“There is in this world no such force as the force of a person determined to rise. The human soul cannot be permanently chained. — W. E. B. Dubois
The world will break you if you let it because life’s conditions can be difficult and without a strong conviction, we succumb to the ravages of life.
The world has always been unforgiving and none more so in modern times. In fact, things are better now given there is less war and social unrest, even despite the current Coronavirus outbreak.
However, there are other growing problems such as: climate change, inequality…
“Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” — Eckhart Tolle
The act of surrendering to the present moment requires letting go of resisting what is taking place. As we do, the layers of judgement disappear and we discover the perfection of the present moment.
Our judgements have a way of obscuring the gift of our moment-to-moment experience. Suffering takes place if we allow our judgement to get in the way of surrendering to the moment.
Can you identify with this? Have you wanted to escape the present moment because it did not live up…
“Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next.” — Ben Carson, Gifted Hands
In his book Meditations, Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius declared: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”
He was referring to the obstacles which stand in the way of success to reveal the path ahead. …
“The secret of change is to focus all your energy, not fighting the old, but on building the new.” — Socrates
Are you aware of anything holding you back from improving your life? It may be a resource such as money, better living conditions, access to certain information or services?
Whilst I don’t discount the value of these things can improve our circumstances, our thoughts are the biggest impediment holding us back.
As an example, I was speaking with a client recently who mentioned she nearly missed exercising one morning.
Her thoughts convinced her she was too tired, so she…
“Be kinder to yourself. And then let your kindness flood the world.” ―Pema Chodron
What is the relationship you have with yourself? Are you aware of the dialogue related to your self-worth? How do you treat yourself when you’re angry, fearful or sad?

“When consciously present as what You truly are — Life’s pure aware presence — then what still appears by way of the senses may appear more beautiful and harmonious than ever.” — Peter Francis Dziuban
Consider your answer to the following questions: Who is it that experiences suffering?
You might say me, the person reading these words on the screen. But who is me? Point to this person.
You will naturally point to your chest. But what makes you sure ‘me’ is located in your chest?
I don’t mean to bombard you with riddles, but I’m trying to point out…
“Someone’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality.” — Les Brown
What other people think of you needn’t determine your reality because people’s opinions are not base in fact; only opinion.
From an impressionable age, we regard the opinions of others because we want to be accepted and fit in.
But as we mature and develop self-esteem, it shouldn’t matter what others think of us.
Let me be clear by saying, it is important we are accepted by our peers, but we mustn’t place our self-esteem in their hands.
Acceptance of oneself helps us connect with our…
“Whatever happens, happens to you by you, through you; you are the creator, enjoyer and destroyer of all you perceive.” — Nisargadatta Maharaj
Do you believe life happens to you or for you? Take your time to reflect on this because your answer will give you an insight into how you relate to life.
Many people are certain life is external to their experience of it. The problem with this is that it takes away our ability to make empowered choices.
If we think life is being enacted upon us, we are likely to surrender control and become victims of…
“Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.” — William Jennings Bryan
We are all born with the seed of potential within us. Some are called to awaken their potential through fate or destiny while others have it thrust upon them.
What about you?
Do you believe you have a destiny to fulfil?
I’m reminded of the following tale depicting the unending search for wisdom outside of us, when it waits to be discovered within.
The Creator of the universe…
If you got what you wanted, how would it change your life? I’m referring to achieving your goals or fulfilling your dreams. Have you given it any thought? Have you entertained the idea of achieving everything you desire?
“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.” — Paulo Coelho
We habitually focus on what we don’t want, to the degree it manifests in our reality.
Unfortunately, we don’t devote enough attention to our dreams and highest…
