Great piece Frank, thank you. If I may add my own perspective, it might be wise to write everyday (or often enough) to cultivate good writing habits and discipline. This is more important when one is starting out as a writer. Having a writing coach can also accelerate your writing because you are forced to focus on deliberate practice and fine tuning your weaknesses. Once you have gained a degree of conscious competence, it may be appropriate to write less often because your acquired skills have become grooved. Momentum, discipline, practice and sound habits work wonders to become a skilled writer!
